Can I make a confession? Mondays are my least favorite days. Why? Because anything that could go wrong, usually does. The enemy is hot on my tail, my husband’s tail and uses my house, my kids, my marriage, my mind, my ministry, and my emotions as weapons in his war. Sometimes I want to pray:
“Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest… I would hurry to find a shelter from the raging wind and tempest.” - Psalm 55:6,8

Lies Women Believe Week 5
This week, we are talking about Lies We Believe About Kids and Emotions. If you missed last week, we talked about Lies We Believe About Marriage. This series is based on the book “Lies Women Believe” if you’d like to do a deeper study on the topic.
For women, lies about children can be some of the hardest pulls on our heartstrings and create a huge opportunity for deception. The mother/child relationship is the most sensitive and tender of human relationships. These particular lies are places you have to seek God’s Word outside of societal norms to get clear insight on.

Lies Women Believe Week 4
This week, we are talking about Lies We Believe About Marriage. If you missed last week, we talked about Lies We Believe About Sin and Priorities. This series is based on the book “Lies Women Believe” if you’d like to do a deeper study on the topic.
Marriage was designed by God to reflect the Gospel and the story of redemption. What took place in the Garden of Eden was an attack on the important picture. Satan lied to Eve about God, about His character and His Word, and about sin and its consequences.

The enemy of our souls tries to convince us that God is not who He says He is and that sin is not what He says it is. He paints a picture that diminishes the goodness of God as well as the sinfulness of sin. He slaps a filter on it. Here are the lies we believe about sin:

Lies Women Believe Week 2
This week, we are talking about Lies We Believe About Ourselves. If you missed last week, we talked about the origin of Lies and Lies We Believe About God. This series is based on the book “Lies Women Believe” if you’d like to do a deeper study on the topic.
We may think the irritations and turmoil within our souls is due to annoying people or frustrating circumstances, when the real problem is that we are seeing things through a damaged lens – a belief based on a lie. If we don’t see God as He really is – if we believe things about Him that aren’t true – invariably, we will have a distorted view of ourselves.

Lies Women Believe Week 1
We all believe lies. Some believe more lies. Some learn to believe new lies. The goal of this series isn’t to find out WHO is believing lies, it’s to find out WHICH LIES I am being deceived by and learning the truth that sets me free.
There is a HUGE lie that I want to call out right off that is pervasive in church culture that is, once I am saved, I’m no longer going to sin or struggle. Then, when we fail or go through dry seasons, the enemy has a hey day with how we aren’t really true Christians or must be irredeemable or broken. Surely, others in the church don’t STILL struggle.
Let’s speak the truth that God’s grace is sufficient and his mercies are new every morning.
